British Orthopaedic Association commits to three-year deal with ASM Global Europe
The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) has confirmed ASM Global Europe (ASM) venues across the UK for its next three events, which will take place at:
- Olympia Events, London in 2026
- Sage ICC, NewcastleGateshead in 2028
- P&J Live, Aberdeen in 2030
The BOA is the professional association for trauma and orthopaedic surgeons in the UK, dedicated to advancing the standards of orthopaedic care through education, research, and the promotion of excellence in the field. The BOA Congresses are opportunities for leading experts, surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals to learn, network, and exchange knowledge and best practices. They gather approximately 2,000 delegates over four days to discuss the latest advancements, research, and innovations in orthopaedic surgery, which not only deliver for the attendees but also provide significant economic and social impact to the destinations in which they take place.
Using ASM’s diverse venues across the UK, the BOA will ensure a high-quality experience for all attendees, enhancing the overall impact of the events. The outcomes of the congresses are expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of orthopaedic practice and patient care in the UK, with sessions covering cutting-edge research, clinical case studies, and hands-on workshops.
“Our decision to partner with ASM was greatly influenced by their unique ability to offer a diverse range of venues across the UK, perfectly suited to our needs,” said Charlie Silva, Head of Events and Fundraising from the BOA. “ASM’s extensive portfolio and commitment to excellence made them the ideal partner for the BOA as it allows us to develop a long-term partnership that will see our flagship event delivered across the whole of the UK, within a portfolio of venues that understands our needs. Above all else this partnership will create a sense of continuity that will not just make the event organising process easier but will manifest itself in an incredible on-site experience for our delegates.
ASM Global Europe’s, Head of Sales – Associations, Steve Daun added: “The choice by the BOA to use our venues between now and 2030 is a real accolade for not just the wider organisation but also the individual venues and their teams. This partnership underscores the importance of a collaborative approach, utilising the strengths of our entire portfolio to deliver outstanding experiences. We are committed to supporting the BOA in every way possible to ensure the success of their events and their delivery not just for the attendees but also the local destinations, which will significantly benefit from the Congresses’ economic impact and legacy. “
“Above all else, the achievement of this deal is due to a team approach across our whole portfolio, that will ensure each event is executed flawlessly and meets the high standards expected by the BOA.”
The BOA wins reflect ASM’s growing ability to deliver events the length and breadth of the UK, which will continue to be enhanced by new openings and investment. ASM recently confirmed details of four new venues opening between now and 2027, which include two being used by the BOA:
- Opening 2026 – the new Olympia Conference Centre will sit alongside the venue’s world-famous exhibition spaces in the heart of London. By the time the BOA takes place, showcasing the newly opened venue, Olympia will have already launched as a destination for art, culture, entertainment, education and events through a £1.3 billion regeneration project. The new conference facilities will include a large auditorium, 14 meeting rooms, 2,000m² of flexible space and a private restaurant and bar.
- Opening 2026 – The Sage ICC, Newcastle Gateshead will bring a world class facility to the Northeast of England as the first phase of the new The Sage development. The BOA Congress will bring significant economic impact to the new £300 million complex, which includes more than 5,700m2 of flexible exhibition and banqueting space, a 900-seat auditorium, plus 17 conference and meeting spaces.
