Barbican grows fashion event portfolio following success of 16Arlington show
The Barbican continues to grow its offering as an exciting and inspiring event space for the creative industries including leading brands in the fashion sector.
Following the success of 16Arlington’s fashion show during London Fashion Week 2024 in the Curve gallery, and with shows by Roksanda and Supriya Lele during London Fashion Week 2023, the Barbican has provided a unique destination for high profile fashion shows to demonstrate their latest collections.
The fashion labels have utilised the Barbican’s iconic settings including the spectacular Sculpture Court, the Curve gallery and even a car park to provide a stunning environment for their new styles.
The events, which have featured across mainstream fashion media have welcomed an array of distinguished designers, models, journalists and fashion enthusiasts from around the globe.

In December 2023, the Barbican held an exhibition showcasing the original costumes from Yorgos Lanthimos’ Oscar-nominated film Poor Things, worn by stars including Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willam Dafoe who also attended a gala screening of the film at the Centre. The costumes were curated by Oscar-nominated costume designer Holly Waddington, who also won the BAFTA for best costume designer for Poor Things.

The Barbican provides a vibrant and inspiring venue for corporate events, conferences, meetings and entertainment. The venue is capable of holding meetings from 10-2,000 delegates in spaces including a concert hall, theatres, a boardroom and conference suites that can accommodate 10-170 delegates and can be adjusted using sound proofed sliding. As part of its wider investment strategy, the Barbican spent £2.2m on a significant refurbishment throughout the Centre in the summer of 2016 including its Frobisher rooms and Level 4. The focus of the Frobisher refurbishment is designed to create an even stronger connection between the Centre’s main conference and meeting facilities and its arts spaces.
